1.    Age has no huge impact:

This is a myth. One of the main factors that can affect fertility chances is age. Age at conception and pregnancy has been increasing around the world and is currently around 25. But as age increases there is a change in the quality and quantity of the egg and fertility rate for sure.

2.    Nutrition has no affect for the chances of getting pregnant:

This is again myth. If you are too underweight or overweight, the chances of getting pregnant do get reduced. People who eat below the recommended calorie are at risk of not being able to ovulate. And while you are obese it disturbs the hormonal balance of the body, leading to infertility issues.

3.    Smoking is fine, but you need to get rid of it after you're pregnant:

This is false. Of course, you are not supposed to smoke after you get pregnant but a lot of people are not aware that smoking can reduce fertility. It holds true even if you are going for IVF. So it's a good idea to quit smoking completely.
 
4.    Your odds of getting pregnant is inhibited by Caffeine:

This is very unlikely. There are researches being done right now, that shows different results. So we can say moderation is the key here.

5.    Stress has no relation to conception:

This is again myth. It is a fact that when women make an effort to reduce stress there is a higher chance of getting pregnant be it through IVF or normally. So if you are trying to be pregnant try to make a conscious effort to keep the mind relaxed.

6.    You can’t conceive if you have PCOS:

This is not true; of course, it does have an effect on fertility. But simple lifestyle changes and a good diet can get you pregnant normally.

7.    Having drugs once in a while can’t hurt:

Nope! Any kind of drugs adversely affects the menstrual cycle. It can suppress the reproductive cycle by their effect on the brain center that controls hormonal balance.

8.    Prescription drugs are absolutely fine:

Of course not, if you are on antidepressants, the prolactin levels can inhibit normal ovulation. So check with your doctor, if you are trying to conceive.
